Hungary to Open Communist-Era Secret Service Archives on 22 October
Hungary's parliament has passed a law requiring the disclosure of communist-era secret service files. The documents will be made public on 22 October — one day before the 70th anniversary of the 1956 Hungarian uprising against the Soviet-backed regime. The law is intended to end the concealment of former agents' identities.
