Fish and chips on the Polish Baltic coast now costs like a premium meal

Summer prices on Poland's Baltic coast are highest where tourist foot traffic is greatest, according to economist Dr Justyna Osuch-Mallett of the West Pomeranian Business School, who calls it "promenade economics." The iconic dish of cod and chips has reached what she describes as premium-meal prices. The Baltic coast has never been cheap in season, but this year the mark-up is especially steep.
