Gordie Howe International Bridge to open July 27 after Trump trade dispute delay

The Gordie Howe International Bridge connecting Detroit to Windsor, Ontario, will open on July 27 after a delay caused by President Trump's trade dispute with Canada. In February, Trump threatened to block the opening and demanded at least 50% US ownership of the bridge. Canada's government said the deal was reached "with the support of the United States Government." The 1.5-mile bridge, named after the legendary Canadian-born hockey player, has been under construction since 2018.
