Typhoon Bavi: 600,000 evacuated, 1,200 flights cancelled across East Asia

Typhoon Bavi has battered eastern China and neighbouring countries, forcing the evacuation of over 600,000 people. Nearly 400 flights were cancelled in Shanghai and 1,200 in Taiwan. Experts warn of extreme rainfall and winds reaching force 11 on the Beaufort scale in some areas.
