Estonia threatens to ban Orthodox Church if it keeps ties with Moscow

Estonia's Ministry of Internal Affairs has given the Estonian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate until the end of 2025 to appoint a new metropolitan and sever ties with Moscow and Patriarch Kirill. If the church fails to comply, Tallinn threatens to ban the organisation outright. The ultimatum is part of Estonia's broader effort to eliminate Russian influence within its borders.
