Milan family returns 40 kg of Sardinian beach sand after 50 years

A family from Milan has returned 40 kilograms of sand taken from the beach of Is Arutas in Sardinia roughly 50 years ago. The woman fulfilled her late mother's dying wish by returning the stolen sand to the island. Taking sand from Sardinian beaches is now strictly prohibited and can result in fines of several thousand euros.
