Paulino Breaks Monaco 400m Record; Two Rivals Already Under 49s

At the Diamond League meeting in Monaco, Olympic champion Marileidy Paulino broke the 400m meeting record held since 2018 by Tokyo Olympic champion Shaunae Miller-Uibo. Two athletes dipped under 49 seconds in the race. With the European Championships in Birmingham just a month away, Poland's Natalia Bukowiecka has yet to break the 50-second barrier, while four of her continental rivals already have.
