Polish consumer watchdog: opening products in-store before paying is illegal
Poland's Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) has reminded shoppers that opening product packaging in a store before paying is not permitted. Until payment is made, the goods remain the property of the retailer, and breaking seals or opening boxes without permission is unlawful. The warning was issued as part of broader consumer shopping guidance from the watchdog.
