Play owner Xavier Niel buys 16% Vodafone stake for $6 billion

French billionaire Xavier Niel, owner of Polish mobile operator Play, has agreed to buy more than 16% of Vodafone shares for approximately $6 billion. The deal would make him Vodafone's largest shareholder, but still requires regulatory approval, according to Bloomberg.
