12 Polish villages to gain city status in 2027; Chełm commune to be renamed Pokrówka

From 2027, twelve Polish villages will be granted city status as part of an administrative reform. Several municipal boundaries will also be redrawn, and the commune of Chełm will be replaced by a new entity named Pokrówka. It is one of the most significant administrative changes in Poland in years.
