Microsoft warns of Iranian GigaWiper malware that wipes drives and fakes ransomware

Microsoft has issued a warning about a new malware called GigaWiper, attributed to Iranian state-sponsored hacking group CyberAv3ngers. The malware combines multiple destructive capabilities: it can wipe drives, encrypt files with a fake ransomware extension, overwrite Windows partitions, and spy on victims via screenshots and VNC sessions. It disguises itself using fake OneDrive tasks and registry keys, and victims have no path to data recovery.
