Super Typhoon Bavi hits Taiwan with 155 km/h winds and mass evacuations
Taiwan is bracing for Super Typhoon Bavi, with thousands evacuated and schools and businesses shut ahead of expected torrential rain, flooding and winds up to 155 km/h. The storm is forecast to make landfall in southeast China on Saturday. It has already caused deadly landslides in the Philippines and widespread damage in Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands.
