Bayeux Tapestry arrives at British Museum overnight ahead of September exhibition

The Bayeux Tapestry arrived at the British Museum in London in the early hours of Friday, having been transported across the Channel overnight in carefully controlled conditions, including a shock-absorbing cage. This is a historic moment – the first time the nearly 70-metre medieval embroidery has left France since World War II. It will go on public display from September as part of a major London exhibition.
