Circle receives OCC approval to open regulated trust bank

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) has approved Circle, issuer of the USDC stablecoin, to open Circle National Trust, a regulated trust bank. Circle submitted its application in June 2025. A trust bank holds client funds in custody, giving Circle a stronger regulatory footing in the financial sector.
