Ancient human fossil shows face stabbing — and survival — the earliest known sharp-force injury

Researchers have found that a fossil of an early human bears signs of a sharp-force wound to the face — and that the individual survived it. If the scientists' hypothesis is correct, the fossil represents the earliest known instance of an injury inflicted by a sharp object in human history.
