Christian Brothers Housed Convicted Child Abusers at Order's Properties for Decades
Records obtained by the Guardian reveal that properties owned by the Catholic order Christian Brothers were used to house at least two brothers with convictions for child sexual abuse. One preyed on orphans; another was kept in teaching roles for nearly three decades after senior officials knew of his offending. The order angered survivors last month by declaring it was near bankruptcy and could no longer meet their court claims.
