Jeffrey Wright on racist abuse of Mbappé: 'They want to diminish his power with stupidity'

Actor Jeffrey Wright spoke out against the racist social media attacks on Kylian Mbappé following Paraguay's World Cup loss to France. Paraguayan senator Celeste Amarilla called Mbappé, among other things, "a brute who had not learned to write." Wright said being Black is a "political term" today and argued that abusers "think they can diminish how powerful he is with their stupidity."
