WHO warns cancer will affect 92% of people; 35 million cases a year expected by 2050
The World Health Organization warns that global cancer cases could rise to 35 million per year by 2050. One in five people will face a cancer diagnosis in their lifetime, and the disease will directly or indirectly affect 92% of the global population through personal illness or that of a close family member. The figures come from WHO's latest report on the global cancer burden.
