Trump claims Spain yielded to his NATO demands — Madrid says it has no idea what he means

Donald Trump threatened Spain with the severing of trade and diplomatic ties over its low defence spending, then abruptly claimed Madrid had yielded to his demands. The Spanish government flatly denied any concession, saying only Trump could explain his remarks. It is not the first time the US president has made threats against Spain only to walk them back.
