WHO: Cancer Cases Could Hit 35 Million a Year by 2050
The World Health Organization warns that global cancer cases could rise to 35 million per year by 2050. Its latest report states that one in five people will personally receive a cancer diagnosis at some point in their life, while 92% of the world's population will be affected either directly or through the illness of a close family member. WHO is calling for urgent strengthening of cancer care systems worldwide.
