Turkey sells S-400 systems, potentially clearing path back to F-35 programme

After seven years of tensions within NATO, Turkey has decided to sell its Russian-made S-400 Triumf air defence systems, according to Turkish media. The original S-400 purchase in 2019 led to Turkey's exclusion from the F-35 fighter jet programme. Completing the sale could normalise Ankara's relations with the West and reopen the door to the F-35 programme.
