Myanmar film 'Fruit Gathering' premieres at Karlovy Vary in Crystal Globe competition

"Fruit Gathering," directed by Aung Phyoe, marks the first Myanmar premiere at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, competing in the Crystal Globe section. The director deliberately avoided a social-issue framing of the bond between two oppressed women, instead focusing on alienation and deep intimacy. The film is a co-production between Myanmar and the Czech Republic.
