US Supreme Court Rules Mail-In Ballots Postmarked by Election Day Must Be Counted

The US Supreme Court ruled on 29 June that mail-in ballots postmarked by election day must be counted, even if they arrive after the deadline. The ruling came in response to efforts by the Trump administration to restrict absentee voting. The nonpartisan group Astronauts for America welcomed the decision, noting it protects the voting rights of people abroad, including astronauts and NASA workers.
