Polish Health Minister Deflects Questions Over Doctors' Million-Złoty Contracts
Health Minister Jolanta Sobierańska-Grenda said in Szczecin on Friday that she bears no responsibility for the multi-million-złoty contractor salaries paid by hospitals in Wadowice and Braniewo, as the ministry does not own those facilities. She said the issue should be addressed by the relevant ownership supervisors. The comments follow a series of reports about extraordinarily high doctor earnings at Polish public hospitals.
