Galaxy's coldest "stars" may be alien Dyson spheres harvesting energy

A new study suggests that red dwarfs and white dwarfs are the best candidates for hosting Dyson spheres — hypothetical energy-harvesting megastructures built by advanced alien civilisations. Such structures would glow in infrared rather than visible light, lack the dusty signatures of ordinary stars, and may flicker in unusual patterns. The research provides astronomers with a practical checklist to identify these objects in future sky surveys.
