Tax offices in West Pomerania caught irregularities in 100% of undercover checks
Two tax offices in the West Pomeranian region of Poland recorded a 100% irregularity rate in undercover "test purchase" inspections; across the whole region the rate was 60%. The issue gained public attention after a tax official bought a bottle of water at a Szczecin dumpling restaurant before opening hours, resulting in the owner being fined for not issuing a receipt. The tax authority is intensifying its audit activities in the region.
