Poland's first offshore wind power flows from Baltic Power farm to grid
The Baltic Power offshore wind farm, being built by Orlen and Northland Power, has for the first time transmitted electricity to Poland's PSE Choczewo substation. It marks a historic milestone as the first offshore wind energy to enter Poland's national power grid. Poland's transmission operator PSE notes that future connections to the substation will eventually bring total offshore capacity to nearly 6 GW — more than the entire Bełchatów coal plant.
