Record bottle-deposit returns at Biedronka, Lidl and Kaufland

Polish supermarket chains Biedronka, Lidl and Kaufland have reported record sums paid out through the country's bottle-deposit scheme. Under the system, a deposit is charged on each eligible container and refunded as a voucher when the container is returned in-store. The chains revealed the figures in response to a press enquiry but did not disclose precise totals.
