EU imposes up to 45% tariffs on Chinese tyres for dumping

The European Commission is introducing punitive tariffs of 4.3% to 45.3% on Chinese tyres in response to unfair state subsidies from Beijing. China has captured 30% of the EU tyre market, with exports to Europe growing by 50% in five years, threatening 80,000 jobs in the sector. Brussels concluded that Chinese dumping prices violated fair competition rules.
