Earth-like planet may exist in our galactic neighbourhood

The number of confirmed exoplanets has reached 6,316, but only 223 are rocky planets resembling Earth. A further 1,801 are classified as super-Earths, which can be rocky, gaseous or mixed in composition — detailed studies are needed to distinguish them. The growing catalogue raises the odds of finding a truly Earth-like world in our galactic neighbourhood.
