113 developing countries spend more on debt than education — UNESCO
A UNESCO report reveals that in 2025, more was spent servicing foreign debt than on education in 113 developing countries. In sub-Saharan Africa, countries spent 3.6 times more on debt repayments than on education, while 18 countries spent five times more on loans. The findings come as global aid to education is forecast to decline by up to 30%.
