Climate change is shrinking squid brains, damaging vision and cognition

New research shows that climate change is causing the brains of squid — among the most intelligent invertebrates on Earth, with around 500 million neurons — to shrink. The areas most affected are those responsible for vision and processing visual stimuli. Scientists warn that this neurological damage could threaten the long-term survival of these animals.
