Italy braces for third heatwave of 2025 – temperatures up to 45°C

Italy is facing its third extreme heatwave of the year from this weekend, with temperatures potentially reaching 45°C. Authorities have issued the highest-level alerts, warning of a danger to the whole population. Hot air masses from Africa are expected to remain over the country until at least 20 July.
