Polish Justice Ministry proposes tenfold increase in criminal fines

Poland's Ministry of Justice has proposed raising the minimum and maximum levels of criminal fines tenfold. Experts quoted by Rzeczpospolita warn that the core problem is not the size of penalties but their effective enforcement. Raising the amounts without improving collection mechanisms may not deliver the desired results.
