Polestar banned from US sales from 2027 under Connected Vehicle Rule

The US Department of Commerce has denied Polestar permission to sell new vehicles in the United States from the 2027 model year, citing the Connected Vehicle Rule targeting cars with Chinese ties. The decision is surprising given that some Polestar models are manufactured outside China. The Swedish-Chinese brand must now exit the US market, raising questions about the future of sister brand Volvo in America as well.
