Czech earthquake weaker than first reported — initial readings were wrong

The Czech Academy of Sciences' Institute of Geophysics has corrected its initial seismic data after Thursday's tremors in the Czech Republic. Early Reuters reports based on readings from Germany's GFZ centre significantly overstated the magnitude of the earthquake. After verification, the shocks turned out to be far weaker than originally announced.
