Deadhead pelargoniums in July to keep them blooming through summer

Pelargoniums produce fewer new blooms in July when spent flower heads are left on the plant, as the energy goes into seed production instead. Regularly removing dead flower clusters — known as deadheading — redirects the plant's energy back to producing new buds. Consistent watering is also crucial in summer heat, as pots dry out much faster than in spring.
