Block pays $45M settlement over Cash App fraud failures in 46 US states

Block, the fintech company behind Cash App, has agreed to a $45 million settlement with attorneys general from 46 US states over a fraud investigation. Prosecutors found that Block misled users by falsely advertising that Cash App offered bank-like protections, including advanced fraud detection, which it did not provide. The settlement resolves the multi-state probe into the company's practices.
