Hong Kong SFC orders crypto platforms to replace OTP logins with passkeys within 12 months

Hong Kong's Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) has ordered internet brokers and crypto platforms to phase out one-time password (OTP) logins and replace them with passkeys within 12 months. The move follows a 57% surge in spoofing attacks targeting financial platform users. The requirement applies to both traditional online brokers and cryptocurrency exchanges.
