Coach Piotr Woźniacki, returning from Wimbledon, expressed bewilderment at Iga Świątek's split with her coach Tomasz Wiktorowski, calling them an excellent team and saying he does not know why they parted ways. He also pushed back against characterising Świątek's Olympic bronze in Paris as a failure, arguing every Olympic medal is as good as gold for a country.
