Lviv council proposes 2027 as the year of UPA commander Roman Shukhevych

The culture commission of the Lviv regional council has proposed designating 2027 as the year of Roman Shukhevych, commander of the UPA (Ukrainian Insurgent Army), and Oleh Olzhych, a figure of the Organisation of Ukrainian Nationalists. The initiative is controversial given its implications for Ukrainian-Polish relations. Separate proposals concerning Lviv's ties with Poland were also raised.
