Greek airports boss: EU's new EES border checks are 'dangerous' and need an overhaul
Alexander Zinell, CEO of Fraport Greece which operates 14 Greek airports, has called for a major overhaul of the EU's new Entry-Exit System (EES). The system requires non-EU passengers to have their fingerprints and photo taken at every Schengen entry and exit, creating massive queues — airports have had to erect gazebos to shield waiting passengers from the sun. Zinell described the system as having "fundamental flaws" and called it "unpleasant and dangerous".
