Ukraine destroys 12 Russian shadow-fleet tankers in Sea of Azov strike
Ukrainian Defence Forces struck the Sea of Azov on the night of 8–9 July, sinking 12 tankers belonging to Russia's so-called shadow fleet. A tugboat and a dry-cargo vessel were also hit. Ukrainian command said the destroyed ships were used to circumvent international sanctions and supply Russian troops with fuel.
