Khamenei buried in Mashhad as son and successor stays out of public view

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was buried Thursday at Iran's holiest shrine in Mashhad following a week of mass funeral processions and mourning ceremonies. His son and successor, Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, has yet to make any public appearance. The ceremonies coincided with a flare-up in conflict between Iran and the United States.
