Ex-Pentagon official: Ankara NATO summit a success — Trump didn't torpedo it

Jim Townsend, former US Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Europe and NATO, assessed the NATO summit in Ankara — which concluded on Wednesday — as a success. He said the very fact that President Donald Trump did not torpedo the meeting was itself an achievement. The summit produced significant decisions on defence and support for Ukraine.
