Polish finance minister pushes 140,000 PLN tax threshold, PiS demands 180,000 PLN

Polish Minister of Funds Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz is pushing the government to raise the second personal income tax threshold to 140,000 PLN. The opposition PiS is demanding 180,000 PLN — a move that would cost the state budget up to 30 billion PLN. Finance Minister Andrzej Domański said coalition talks are ongoing and that he will meet Pełczyńska-Nałęcz next week before any joint proposal goes to public debate.
