150-year-old Metalrugia in Radomsko to close after 30 mln PLN losses

Metalrugia, a 150-year-old metalworks in Radomsko, Łódź voivodeship, is to be shut down and all employees made redundant. The company accumulated 30 million PLN in losses and could not withstand competition from Chinese manufacturers. The plant survived two world wars and Poland's post-communist transition, but is now succumbing to global market pressures.
