Maciej Stuhr recalls father Jerzy's final weeks: "He barely recognised me"

Jerzy Stuhr, one of Poland's most celebrated actors, died on 9 July 2024 in Kraków at the age of 77. His son Maciej Stuhr has recalled visiting him in hospital during his final weeks, saying he told his father he loved him and stroked his hand, but that his father was only barely responsive. Maciej described the emotionally difficult bedside visits in a recent interview.
