Poland's Supreme Administrative Court: Fraud Victims Don't Owe Tax on Stolen Goods

Poland's Supreme Administrative Court (NSA) has ruled against the tax authority's position that businesses defrauded by criminals must still declare income on goods they lost. The tax office argued that a company must report revenue even when a counterparty turned out to be a fraudster who took goods without paying. The NSA found that a contract concluded with a criminal is legally void and therefore creates no taxable income.
