AI Cracks Water's Two-Liquid Mystery

Researchers at the University of Osaka trained an AI model on computer simulations to study water's microscopic structure in its supercooled state. The system evaluated 16 different structural descriptors and identified which ones most effectively distinguish between water's two competing liquid states. The findings provide a clearer framework for understanding one of nature's most puzzling substances.
